In sketchbook:
-Select one artist/illustrator (preferably working in 2-d image construction).
-Write a brief bio including:

-Where they lived and worked
-Association with any particular movement
-Contribution to the field
-Select one work, print it out (in color), and mount in sketchbook
-Write one paragraph about the work.

-Technique
-Subject matter
-Why you were attracted to it.

This project will require two finished works. Both works will be take inspiration from the same source, yet each work will pursue a distinctly different audience and venue.
Start by selecting a book from one of two sources:
the NY Times bestseller list for the week of Jan, 17 2016.

Familiarity is an asset, so acquiring a copy, or selecting something you have read will assist greatly.
Create two works:
1. An artwork that draws inspiration from the book.
-This work should be self-driven in regards to aesthetic and technique.
2. An artwork that illustrates the book, or a component of the book.
-The resulting image could serve as the cover, a series of chapter illustrations, an insert, etc.
For both works, be prepared to:
-Define the venue
-Define the audience
